Michael Sussman, writer / producer on Star Treks Enterprise and Voyager, is currently working to get a series set during Romulan/Starfleet war greenlit and he wants Todd to reprise his role as Talok. Calling it Star Trek: United, Sussman also aims to bring back Scott Bakula as Archer, this time as the first President of the Federation.
With Legacy‘s future still uncertain – and certainly not happening while Strange New Worlds is on air, United seems to be the more likely to be picked up. A TV Insider poll saw 97% of fans supporting Archer and United, so it’s definitely a popular choice.

Last seen masquerading as a Vulcan, United would see Talok promoted from major to minister, though of what isn’t clear. His past is murky: he infiltrated the Vulcan military before serving under T’Pol during the Tomed mission, which must have been before 2149 and T’Pol assuming her position at the Vulcan Compound on Earth. Therefore, Talok had lived as a Vulcan for at least five years by the time of the events of “Kir’Shara”.
Given that he had to have been cosplaying a Vulcan for longer – I’d guess ten years if not more – if would be interesting to see how those years impact the character going forward. Has he managed to shake them off? Does he have a conflict of interest that, assuming his being a major player in United, he has to hide?
Knowing Todd’s love of good story meat, I hope that if the show does come to fruition, then Talok is haunted by his past. I want him to be torn between his upbringing and the role he played for a decade, because I know what Todd would bring to the table. And it would be awesome.
In short, I would far rather see Todd on United as Talok than on Legacy as a holographic Shaw.
